Hi, Im new to this forum.
I just bought a Hoover 541 that is in working condition and complete. My question is what is the procedure for repairing it before I use it? I read somewhere that you have to grease the motor bearings. Also, it is quite dirty. The aluminum part is dull and dusty. What could I do to polish the aluminum and the black motor cap to make them shiny again? Also, where could I get a replacement belt for it? Im also looking for a complete dusting tools set for it. What would be a reasonable price to pay for the complete dusting tools set if I find it for sale? Thanks.

-Cody

I recently got a 541 too. This thread from November should have a lot of useful information.

Thank you for your answer! I have another question: Is the black rubber power cord original?

No, I think the cord should look like this. I'm not sure if the plug on my 541 is original though.
