As for my faveourite cylinder I can't really comment, cause, I hate them! haha, I am an upright fan! If I had to choose it would be between a Hoover sensotronic and a Numatic Henry!

Love the Lux!

This is my Electrolux Silverado I bought from eBay about a month ago. I've used it everyday since. I brought out the Eureka 1934b a few days ago to help out with dry cleaning the carpet, but it couldn't out clean the Lux. The carpet pile is always lifted by the Omi-flow and the suction is amazing, along with it being one of quietest vacuums I own.

I just don't like cylinders because I am not into them as to me they are boring and don't do anything, I can get the best of both worlds with an upright :P

Electrolux 1205, my all-time favorite! I'm still working on the clean-out & restoration process.

Before restoration.

I have 3 model 1205s; this one came without a hose or any tools. My other 2 are 100% complete.

My three Compact/TriStars. From left>right: Compact C6, TriStar CXL & EXL.

I sold the C6; but I still have the CXL & EXL.

TriStar CXL ready for vacing car interiors, stairs & upholstery.

The Wessel Werk HEB160 ain't as aggressive as the MiniStar, SideKick or RainbowMate; so I can use the HEB160 for delicate fabrics.

I have 2 HEB160s; one for upholstery only & the other for stairs & automobile interiors. This way, I won't "cross-contaminate" surfaces by using a very dirty brush on not so dirty areas or vice-versa.

When it comes to power head canisters there is one to me that stands above the others i have, the patriot it pulls a 5.5/10 on the baird meter at the hose end.
The Patriot is even better when paired with my Lindhaus nozzle.
when it comes to straight suction hands down the Magic Blue by kenmore 10/10 at the hose end I do not have a picture of it as a gave it to my sister for her hard surface home.

a Rainbow D2.  No power nozzle, not even a port to plug one in.  But it's great for cleaning hard surface floors and above floor cleaning.

@Parwaz786

Your yellow bagless vacuum is our Kenmore Progressive Bag-Free compact canister in the USA. I'm not sure if Sears still carries this bagless canister, or got replaced by a new model? It didn't have a PN or turbo brush; but a combo floor/rug tool like yours & that awful "3-in-1" combo crevice/dusting brush. K-mart still sells this vacuum; it was $49.99 when they first came out.

That Super J is marvelous! I like all of the metal-bodied Lux vacuum cleaners, but the Super J is one of my favorites! I have been collecting Super J's for quite some time and I've never run across one nearly as nice as your example there! Out of all the Super J's I have, I've got one that is probably as close to original as possible, it even has the factory hose with it and surprisingly has good suction! Maybe one of these days I can get it shined up looking nice, but those are GREAT machines!

Love your eureka express!! I got the EXACT same one today on craigslist for $20. It's really neat, and lighter than most other canisters of that era. There are some flaws, like the cord rewinder not working, light burnt out, attachment cover missing, but it works good, has the attachments, and the only other thing is that the bearings have to be oiled- it squeaks badly!! Do you like you're express? Is the squeaking bearings common? Thanks!! -Mitchell

Nice looking vacuums. The Electroluxes look great and the Rainbows and Patriots are interesting.

BBFvac76, I have the same red Kenmore Progressive, got it at Sears for $95. Recently had to have the wand replaced under warranty, now it's working great again. I also bought that bright green BOL Kenmore, really liked the green color and wanted a BOL canister. The older style wands, pull to rewind cord and switch on the canister reminds me of the older ones. I haven't used it any, just took it out of the box to see what it sounded like and packed it away. The '70s blue one is nice too, I'd like one of those in green!

BBFvac76:

Does that Kenmore Progressive have a variable speed motor? The website says it has 3 speeds but I don't see a control for it. I see controls for the motor and power nozzle but it looks like a manual slider control for suction. Thanks.

electromatik

The slider control is to change motor speeds & is NOT equipped with a suction bleeder valve.

OK, thanks! That finally explains the mystery for me. I'm glad it is equipped with multiple speeds as next to high filtration that's my favorite feature.
