I just bought a Discovery II for $30 today from someone who I'm thinking of buying some more vacs from. I'm sure it was well worth $30, but are they good commercial vacuums? I had always depicted them as being bigger and more heavy duty, but it seems to have a lot of power and an aggressive brushroll. I would never have a commercial application for it anyway but I'm just wondering. Would anyone also happen to know production range on it? I though I heard late 80's.

Nice looking machine there! The Discovery was a mid-80's release. Around 1986 was the time it first hit the market I believe, if not before that. The folling postcard from Electrolux has copyright 1986 and is advertising the Discovery II as thier newest upright.
