Don't hear much about Samsung brand vacs here in the States...do they mostly sell under different labels here like the Panasonic / Kenmore arrangement?

New Samsung VCC96P0H1G pictured, the link is the Samsung Vacuum webpage.

Samsung vacuums are quite different from the usual china pod-vacs. Always have been singularly unique, winning many design awards.

I like how this one looks, like Rocketman's JetPack.

Are great machines I used to sell them in my store . I sold Miele and had many customers trade their Miele vacuums for Samsung . The machines I sold were bagged and they were amazing . Glad to see them back hope they will sell a bagged version .

The latest Samsung bagless vacuums did nowhere near as well as the LG Kompressor in Consumer Reports testing. Two of the Samsungs have very poor airflow thru the hose for tool use and don't clean carpets as well as the LG Kompressor. LG stands for Lucky- Goldstar and, like Samsung, is a South Korean company.

Very interesting machine to look at!

I just noticed that if you look at their upright it has some Bissell qualities to it, like the turbo nozzle, the base some, and Bissells combo dusting/upholstery nozzle. I wonder who makes it.

I think they are better off sticking to TVs and computers!

That's because Samsung makes the majority of Bissell's vacuum cleaners.

For vacuum cleaners, the Bissell brand is nothing more than a name stamped to vacuums sourced from other manufacturers.

Hmmm

Bissell, yes makes sense, as i think there was or is a Samsung, 'Digi-vac' of some kind.

Link shows an ad from an appliance store selling these for $299.

Could hgh end Asian vacs become players someday, like Lexus & Acura?

It could happen. Right now, South Korea's LG and Samsung are offering some very good laundry machines, along with their impressive televisions. Indeed, it is quite amazing that the top - rated bagless vacuums in Consumer Reports testing are LG Kompressor vacs - not Dysons or Hoovers.

It is interesting looking. At $299 it should compete with the Dyson, Panasonics/Kenmore and some others.

Looks like the listing for $299 is gone.

Yes it's gone...

Flagged for removal, probably because the Appliance company listed it on Craigslist in a private party area rather than a dealer area...

Latest Consumer Reports rates these new Samsung Canisters

stricklybojack's profile picture
Lowest rated other than a Dirt Devil & a Dyson in the bagless canister category. Two Aeruses are also in this issue, the Legacy & Guardian Ultra.

Hare is Pete's blue Samsung that won design awards in its day.

Pete's description:
"Just dragging out old pictures. Never see many of these samsung vacs around. This is a great vacuum clone of a Miele in every way but the shape of the body. It's powerful and quiet with the sliding power switch just like on my Miele either side of the two buttons. Even better though is it's tiny power nozzle that works great, it's almost 1/2 the size of the Miele power-head and even quieter. "

It is a bagged vacuum with tools on board under the lid.

It would have been 2009 when Pete found this. Later that week I was in a rural ladies home to pick up a kijiji win and the lady had a yellow version of this...but would not part with it.

Yep Scott.. In the UK, the budget SAMSUNG Propel (SU3351) uprights have a whiff of Bissell about them. I think both companies actually sell the same machine but with different cosmetic differences. I recall seeing Bissell's latest Powerforce and the Samsung SU3351 Propel just before Christmas. At the rear, both vacs are very similar especially around the back of the main hood where the same side by side ribs are located on each side of the floor head.

I tried one very recently in a local electricity show room. The Samsung is a little noisy but that's to be expected from a Chinese brand and the shop were selling them for a cheap 50 to 70 pounds. However, I love how light it is to lift or push and the handle is quite comfortable to hold onto. The Bissell model was however far more substantial feeling, bulkier and heavier.
