This is a cute little machine that a friend gifted to me today.

It needs a belt, but perhaps a Royal part will work.

Old-timey spring cord relief, etc.

Design by James B. Kirby!

This was only one of the machines designed by Mr. Kirby. We all think he worked for Scott & Fetzer, but he also designed a lot of Apex machines. I have one like this called the 'Little Wonder!'

Beautiful, enjoy it!

Awesome! I love it. It wouldn't look out of place today with that nozzle design. That cord is huge!

My 'Little Wonder'

is much like this but doesn't have the handle, you hold it by the part that goes from motor to bag. Another one that I have, also of this design is made by 'Sweeper-Vac.' My guess is that they date back to early 1920, or perhaps before.

Apex Roto Brush

I have a similar model, called the Apex Roto Brush, but the motor cover on mine is blue like the rest of the machine, and the bag is burgundy. Data plate and brush are missing on mine, and at some point the cord had been cut, but I wired a test cord to it to check it out and it ran well.

Cool design! I wonder how it would compete with a Royal 157?
