Hi all working on a sanitaire sc 886 motor, what is the easiest procedure for removing the top bearing off the shaft? My two jaw bearing puller doesn't seem to fit under the cooling fan.I have the new brushes and lower bearing kit and had no problems getting the motor apart but that top bearing is my only obstacle.

Success !!!!!!!

Okay, the sanitaire motor now runs like new,I installed the new bottom bearing with flange and screws. this motor was fairly simple to overhall, the trick is get the armiture out of the old bottom bearing, this was done by srewing on a nut to the threads and tapping it out with a mallot after the motor top is removed.
