My Hooverette has been abandoned for a number of years, I've not really shown an interest in it. But, I bought it home tonight to do a slow restoration of it.

Any chance I can get hold of any of these parts still from anyone? Or are they like rocking horse poo?

The cloth bag. Mine is torn badly (see pic from years ago). Was like that when I got it.
The 'carpet' plate for the floor brush
The carry strap

No rush, would be nice to complete it though. Ebay is being searched regularly too. Will grab a pack of bags asap, junior bags chopped down are too big and kill the (rubbish) suction!

Cheers

Sam

And a random pic of the ratings plate. Can these serials be dated?

You might have to buy another complete unit off eBay, someone on here might have the parts you need to hopefully get it back to its original condition.

I have thought that, and several have come and gone recently. If there's no luck then I will, but then I'd have a good one for the collection, and ol' red sat in the garage awaiting another repeal, or parting out or a shotgun to the head...

I may have....

Hey Sam

Im pretty sure I have a spare Blue main unit, will look and check what condition the bag is in. Will check if the actual unit is wanted as a fellow collector I believe has a mint one with a fault on the motor but whose bag should be ok. Give me a week and will see what I can find :)

It would appear that this is a VERY early production unit from the first half of 1961

I never did understand that phrase; rude health...

Anyway, back on track - I hope you get that Hoover restored to brand new condition as you have with other vacuums in the past and when you do - POST PICTURES!!
