Greetings all, I picked up a Hoover Constellation 454 Turquoise, don't' have pics yet it's dirty but in good shape otherwise. Only the unit and floor hose and head. Paid 7 bucks at the local thrift center.

Couple of questions:

What year is it from?
Were do I go to get supply namely the bag and motor filter that's under the bag?
How do I best clean the rubber trim?

Thanks for any input!

I'd guess around mid 1960's. The constellation ran from 1954 to 1975. I actually use my constellation 858 a lot as a hard floors vacuum.

I got mine from a rectory...don't ask.

You can find Type J bags on ebay.  I've cleaned the runbber parts with Bon Ami, or Simple green.  Great luck with that stellar Connie.

Hoover color codes?

Guardsman69 - is there a way to decipher the various Hoover color codes found in the parts lists for example: ABB, MR, WW, AG, KT, AAP etc. Thanks.
