I have never seen one before in SA but always liked the look of Them and I got this one with a badly damaged box but everything there

Is Philips a Hoover take-off..? You would probably be able to tell by what style bag it takes?

No Its not, Phillips made its own style of vacuum cleaners for many years, More modern ones share bags with the New Electrolux bagged canisters the S type bag. It was a joint venture between Electrolux and Phillips.
