Get some brown commutator stone, as the motor is running, push it into the arcing commutator to get the copper back into round, the arcing will stop.

how do you get the fan housing apart?

  1. First, remove the nut holding the fans, spacers & housing (located on front end)
  2. You take a slotted screwdriver & gently tap (DO NOT POUND THE HOUSING TOO HARD!) it with a rubber mallet.  BE CAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE the fan chamber.
  3. Carefully remove the spacers, fans & fan housing.
