Here they are together! My 1987 gray/black one on the left and my 1985 blue one on the right.

I'm jealous. I really like the color of the 1987 stark delux

Evan,

The gray and black one is the model 5000NA, which was a Stark's exclusive model, although it is really similar to the Royal 889 (or, after 1989, the 9000). The 889 was actually burgundy in color, with a mauve Scafitex bag.

The blue one is the model 880.

I know the blue one is the 880. how many amps is the 5000na? how many fan blades does it have? Does it run well? how is the maneuverability?

Evan,

The 5000NA is 6 amps.

Impeller fans on both machines have 6 blades. I hope to change both of them to a 9-blade impeller fan.

The 5000NA's maneuverability is great, but I still have to get used to the maneuverability of that of the 880.

I vacummed with my kirby sentria christmas eve and I now see what people mean when they say wide wheels dont track straight. On the back stroke I noticed it kept wandering off to the side and my light bulb went on in my head;. I think the reason I think my 880 is easier to maneuver than my 801 is because the faster brush makes it glide across the carpet. my 801 requires significantly more effort to push around.
