Hi all, I have just joined discuss o vac, its been so much fun reading through the different threads and seeing pics of you vacuums. Great to see so many vacuums that I had owned when I was a kid!

I especially love seeing the hoover convertibles, those were my favorite as a kid!
That and the Saniway Mark VIII!

Welcome to the forum where everybody agrees on one thing - HOOVERS ARE BEST. Especially Hoover Senior Rangers...

Well, John (gottahaveahoove) does anyway!

Thanks guys!

I have to agree Hoover did make a pretty damn good vacuum! But I am partial to Kirby and Electrolux, right now I primarily use an Electrolux Ambassador III beacsue its a bit easier to move around than the Kirby Ultimate G!

Unfortunately I dont really have the space for a collection, so more often than not I end up buying and selling (with the exception of the Kirby, I wont part with that)

I have had a few Kenmore Canisters (Progressive and Red Intuition), I have had the Dyson Animal DC17, I have had a Sanitaire System Pro, Hoover Windtunnel Bagless canister, Kenmore Porgressive upright, Oreck XL and Gold.......in my younger years I/We had the Convertibles, Eureka Uprights and canisters, Hoover spirit canisters, Kenmore Canisters, we had an airway and a saniway when I was very young.

My Grandfather was a Kirby, Airway and Saniway Salesman when he was young.

Welcome Shane

Hey Shane welcome to the group! I am the same as you..Kirby and Lux all the way you will find out that I find a ton of $5 vacs and usually clean em up/fix and then sell so if you are ever in the market for something let me know.

As for Hoover's... They are great machines don't personally have any like you seems like spaces keep getting smaller but if you ever need to know anything call John, he will get you covered.

So again welcome!
Tristan

Thanks shane!

Hey thanks for the compliment, I was going for a "Griswolds" family Christmas. I didn't hit the mark but not bad, and this is only the half of it! The inside looks like Christmas vomited :)

Hello and welcome Shane!!

I love canister vacs and Hoovers are one of my favorites. Perhaps we can find you one nice Hoover for you to add to your collection!! Any in particular that you're looking for, most likely a headlight. Are you more into the traditional sounding "Convertible Symphony" style motor like on 69 or would you want a louder, more powerful 4.8/ 6.? as on a Decade 800!

Just a thought. I'm not much of a Kirby guy myself. I do a lot of house cleaning for clients and need a versatile machine for doing wall to wall carpet, wood floors, ceramic tile, upholstery and grabbing cobwebs in the corners. I find my canister vacs outclean and groom carpets better than the G4's that we own while being much easier to use. The shiny metal on a Kirby and Royal is neat to look at though!

Welcome aboard and Happy Holidays!
Rob

Welcome. I have no info yet on you joining.  Are you a  paid member of the club yet? Consider that, too.  You'll make great friends here.  You'll find info, photos, etc on ALL kinds of vacuums.  I'm ALL HOOVER.  I've been called a lot of things... one being a kahuna.

So, relax, and indulge your passion for vacuums.

 John,  VCCC Member Coordinator.
