What ever happened to this fantastic design.

Today at the shop I needed to quiceky suck up some water in an emergency and forgot the shopvac was full of dust so I was left with a sludge of mess to clean up.

Do they still make this great vacuum design, does any one have one and what were they like

dual tank Hoover wet/dry

We saw this in US in early 90s.Was in a few department/home improvement stores in different sizes. They disappeared fairly quickly and are rarely if ever seen or heard of.

They lost selling power. Bad/no advertising, plus,

Competition with Shop vac.  That Shop vac name wipes out everything. I should have bought one years ago at K Mart.

We never got them here but I tought it was such a great idea, I wonder why shopvac has not bought the patents for it and made there own.

I remember them being sold, but can't quite recall seeing them in stores, or anyone having one. I have a 1997 Sears Homecenter catalog, (sort of a mail order magazine catalog that they sent after the big book catalogs were discontinued) that shows that one and explains the tank design.

Would you be able to scan some in? I'm interested to see what the machine is like!

Don't worry if you can't. :)

Hoover shop vacs

are great I have one the biggest model they made and it has a motor you can take off and it becomes a leaf blower... Unfortunately I haven't seen mine in 7 years. It still is in storage in Californis with 60 other vacs of my collection.. Dan

hoover's "Exclusive two tank system"

I was always fascinated by the idea too. Hoover made it in the mid 90's I think. I do believe the double system was available in the 12 and 16 gallon, along with a 16 gallon with detachable blower. I had an opportunity recently where there were two for sale for $25, but I declined because I really have no use for it, and barely use my Rigid 16 gallon I've had since new from 2001. Might still get one, someone still has theirs for sale.

Here is the picture of the one for sale in my area.
What do you'all think should I get it? They want $25.
