Ok so I've narrowed down that my Princess Ascension is really a Philips vacuum. What I need to find is the hose clamp/clip. It secures the hose to the machine. Without it, the hose just pulls out.

I'm borrowing a picture from Beko of the part that I need. I am having no luck at all online. Can anyone offer any advice?

Of course I am in the UK so I don't know about where you are, but what I can tell you is that this hose fitting was used by Philips for the greatest part of 40 years, so finding a non-genuine hose to fit would be very easy in our part of the world. Here is one such example.

Sorry, please ignore that, I realise now it was the clip you needed. Having seen your original message, I am not at all sure your cleaner is a Philips. Whilst it has that Philips like appearance, I am sure it is another make. The hose arrangement is not like any Philips sold here.

Yes I think Benny is correct, the Philips in question does not ring true as a "real" Philips if my memory serves me correctly.

Although what brand actually did design it is not coming to me, though I think I did read about it.

If I remember I'll be sure to mention it.

After tons of time tooling around the internet, I have found out that the machine is a Holland Electro 5000. Never heard of the brand, and I imagine that finding the clip I need will be a challenge.
