These look soooooooooo neat! Sadly, just the bags, headlights and colors have changes, but theres an "anti microbial"
protection, AND MAYBE a stiffer agitator! I cant wait to try one of these! And if you notice, he says "9" lbs now, not "8" WHY CANT HE JUST SAY 10?, And I would still prefer a Riccar SupraLite over an Oreck unless Oreck put better agitators on it!

What's the difference in the new bag? It's just the outer part, right? If it's possible, is there a benefit to retrofitting the new bag onto the older machines?

If I may answer that question. I work at an Oreck dealership, and we do that for customers all the time. It does make the machine more hypo-allergenic. On some of the older models we also do a retrofit and add the new bag docking system. We call this a Hypo Upgrade Plus Plus and charge $109.99. For those "cheap charlies" who won't spring for a new machine, at least it improves the filtration of their cleaner. Some of the Orecks I see are more than 20 years old, and still have their original perforated vinyl outer bag. While I like the look of it better, there's definitely nothing hypo-allergenic about it....

Hey Patrick!

The new models just arrived. No change in the brushrolls, the only change is ALL plastic parts and cloth bags have been infused or coated with an anti-microbial process of some kind instead of just the bag like on your Titanium. There would be no advantage of switching your bag out on yours as it already has the treatment on the bag, just not the other plastic parts. I know what an afficienado you are on filtration, and I'm glad you love your Titanium. The new models we got in are the 10 yr. models in red and black. We're not selling them until we run out of the current models, unless someone has seen them on the internet and specifically ask for them. Hope this answers your question!

Rick, the machine is sentimental because it came from you, so I wouldn't change it anyway, but I just wondered if the difference was beyond the label. The XL21 is a great vacuum, although I know you're partial to the pink Oreck, as well as to my highway driving. :)

BTW, I'm moved, and the unpacking should be done by the time you get back from the convention. I'll be anxious for you to visit once it's cleaned up.

Patrick
