I...
live in Walla Walla as a matter of fact. This place is up at our airport...there used to be a military base here and now they rent what's left of the buildings to businesses. It's a real rat's nest up there, but I know where this auction house is located. Sometimes it's a formal auction where you sit down and bid against others in the same room as the junk. Usually, a guys sits up front with a laptop and takes Internet bids. The other way they do it is with a guy, a headset and he perambulates around all the junk in the warehouse while taking bids. Either way, there is a bid order to the junk and if you leave and come back, you always risk missing the item you want to bid on. Which translates into; it could be a very long day and horribly bad food concessions outside.
This weekend there is an estate auction and unlike the usual junk, it's a man's lifetime of collecting old radios, gramophones and jukeboxes. The gramophones look to be mint/restored and really fascinating if you're into that kinda thing.
