Here is my 1975 rainbow d2. I am so glad to finally get all of the accesories I have been looking for to go with this vacuum. This model was made in april 1975 according to the packing card that came in the attachment box.

Nice...and you have the tool carrier too! It must be very heavy to carry with the weight of the metal tools and the water especially if the large basin is used!

Great machine, I want one like that also.

That tool caddy is HTF; were they rare?

Thanks for the compliments everybody! It took me a long time to find the tool caddy, I have only ever seen a few in photos over the years. It does make the vacuum quite a bit heavier to have all the tools on top though. Has anybody ever seen the tool caddy or 4 quart basin in the chocolate D2 color? I'm guessing that they did not bother to make those parts in the dark brown color since that model wasn't made for long but I do wonder if they are out there somewhere still..

I have seen the 4 Qt. basin in dark brown, but only the top of it was dark brown, the basin itself was clear plastic.

That's one thing I would love to find is a 4 quart basin for my D2 collection.

Does anyone have the 8 quart basin that is shown in the back of the manual for the d2? It looks very large and came with its own wheeled dolly built in. There was recently one on ebay.

The "Rexair" script on the Eureka-made power nozzle is also a clue as to the 1975 year of production and sale. From 1976 onward, the Rexair name would be replaced by the Rainbow name.

I liked the 1979 chocolate brown trim, though.
