Well, another box arrived at Tarantula Arms.  This time sans packing peanuts (well, maybe I found a couple. Wink)  in any event, I knew what it was.  I was corrected on its provenance and will state the facts correctly to get myself out of the doghouse.  This machine originally came from Charlie Watrous.  It was sent to Mr. Stachnik for a spa treatment.  And what a treatment it got.  It went back to the Watrous collection and from there was sent here.  Hopefully that sets the record straight.  So make no mistake this came from the Charlie Watrous collection.

I have noticed that whenever I see a beautiful original machine whether it be a washer, dishwasher of vacuum I always ask "Where did it come from?"  Always interesting to hear the history.

Always good to check underneath

And as usual, pristine.  This part of the machine takes the beating, excuse the expression.

The Requisite "Glam" Shot

After years of adjusting photos, I am still working out the kinks.  Not too much shine and glare.  And indeed - a beauty!

Since...........

it did live with Fred S. for some time, it really should, to be fair, be considered from both of us as we each did our own spa work.

Fred S. found another 66 in EVEN more pristine condition and so this 66 became a permanent resident of mine until now. I'm thinning the collection and the 66 and 67 are now in another goood home!

Charlie

Yep, I think Charlie found the machine itself, without the original bag.  I had found the bag and I think I added the original cord.  It was a "shared collection" vacuum that went back to Charlotte when I moved from Milwaukee to North Carolina in 2007.  Another  66 found its way into my collection about a year and a half ago, via Greg.  I still need to to my "spa" treatment to that.... there's never enough time!

Enjoy!  :-)

Here they are all lined up.  From the first Convertible, the 65 then down the line - 66, 67, 68, 69.  Then on to the Convertible Specials of the era, the 31, 32, and 33.  Love it!

I have a 66, minus the bag and with a white replacement hood. The hunt is on. Then, I'll also have 65, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70. I have about 9 70s, 5 69s, 2 67s, and a partridge in a pear tree.
