You got your HOOVER!!

durango159's profile picture
That's a very nice Convertible. Surprised you're giving it away. However,if I recall correctly we did discuss your picking up a Hoover for your collection. That convertible looks perfect!! I think the hood color is similar to your Eureka ESP-- also a very nice machine.

Love the red Tristar. Something about machines that offer more than gray, white, black and mild colors really makes the machines jump out more. I love dark blues, greens and reds!!

Gorgeous collection, all the machines look great.

****I'm just being sarcastic with my first paragragh. If I ever offend you or anyone else on, then please don't hesitate to shoot me an email or let me know in reply thread!! I'm not trying to hurt anyones feelings as each individual reacts differently to different situations and a typed message lacks personal communication.

God Bless and Happy Vacuuming to all on Vacuumland.org!!

Tristars are great!  They're so powerful AND so easy to work on!  Plus, even the standard filtration does an excellent job.  But the real reason I love Tristars is that I have this weird fascination with looking at the debris that's vacuumed up!  LOL!  I think that's the main reason I love older Kirbys as well!

You have a collection to be proud of! Very very nice! I am partial to canisters and I love your Electrolux's and the Tristar!

There is another tristar similar to that one on Craigslist in Louisville, I am always searching all the cities close to Indiana and there is

a red one listed down there!

If you haven't already, make you a pictorial of your collection to add to the clubs group of collections. I love going thru and looking

at everyones fantastic machines!

The picture is one of my all time favorites I found at an estate sale in Ohio, it is a new in box 6500 I paid $100 for it.

Tristen

Welcome!I have a vac store at other end of TN just east of Johnson City.Nice vacs. The red seems to be a rare color for TriStar.Your Discovery looks early with att box.Was introduced April 85.(Don't feel to bad about cord hook. They started breaking in May 85 when I was Lux service mgr.)Hint-Don't pull cord sideways on Royal hand vac.We get a lot of broken cord repairs that way.One way to add to your collection is to drive across TN to The Place of Which We Do Not Speak(part vac warehouse/part Collyer bros memorial).Have many extra Hoover,Lux,Compact and MORE!Most between free & cheap.I am changing phone to-423-297-6918
and hope to talk with you soon. Are you up for trip with
better fall weather?

Someone had some anger management issues running it, though...that lens!
I have a red Tristar, and 3 KIRBYs for sale here, but, I imagine the postage to you would be prohibitive.

If you get a lens,

the replacements are all 'plain'. They stopped the lettering thing, largely due to J.C. Penney.

Tristan,

Enjoy Gatlinburg and then come on over.Have you been to the flea mkt on hill at Gatlinburg exit?I found a Watermatic there long ago.Was also a decent thrift store in first town south of interstate(Sevieville?).From Gatlinburg to here is due east either all interstate or exit for Greenville-Jonesborough-Johnson City.Easy and scenic drive.Bring large cargo area, moderate amount of $ and allow time to dig.Actually had 2 collectors visit yesterday but only 1 Hoover & 1 hose left.If you like cars our cruisein is every Sat,Apr-Oct,with at least 3 blocks of cars.-Jimmy

Awesome Jimmy

Thats awesome Jimmy, I love old cars they are my other passion. I have owned a 63' Impala and a 76' Coupe DeVille and am currently looking for 85 or older Cutlass Supreme or Caprice Classic two door.

I will have to find my bearings in Gatlinburg I am not to familiar with that area of TN, and am coming there for a wedding so will have to see if I have time.

HEY Tristan, have you ever priced out what it would cost to replace the handle on your discovery? I priced it out on Hesco and to get the cord hook you have to get the whole assm handle and its $73.!   OI
