Take a look at this... no it's not the first Hoover or Eureka... but look what Granny had stored away in the attic at her house. An Electrolux Guardian 75th Anniversary Edition. It is in reasonably great condition for being stored away for a few years in her attic. She is in a nursing home now and I am charged with liquidating her estate. I took this bad boy home and cleaned it up a bit, fired her up and VOILA! works like a charm. The brushroll on the powerhead and the Sidekick III look new. I vacuumed the whole house with it. I was going to hold on to it but I think I am going to throw it up on eBay... she can use the money and I have no need for yet another vac. LOL! My other half is gonna kill me when they see what I dragged home. ;)

To call her a pack rat would be an understatement. I was actully in search of her TriStar that I played with as a kid. That would be a fun find. Where to start looking in her mess is another story.

Wow I love that style of Electrolux! I have had renaissance's in the past but never a guardian or epic 8000and up. That should bring your grandmother a good bit of cash.

I have went ahead and posted it to eBay in case anyone is interested. We are not out to make a mint but just put some money in the old gal's spending account for field trips, snacks, etc. Sugar free candy is expensive ya know!!! ;)

You may want to correct that part. It is 1998 not 2008.

Nice find!

Thanks for the heads up!!! TYPO!!! I think around '98 or '97 was when her Tristar was giving her problems. I fixed it for her a few times, clogs, etc... but I think she got frustrated because I remember her buying a crappy upright at Wally World or something and then she got this brand new from the local vac shop. I still wonder where that Tristar is... :/

Great vacuum from when a Lux was still a Lux. I have the 75th anniversary Diplomat. It is one of my favorite canisters.

So was running a Wally World vac as her primary runner then? She had this hiding in the attic and a not so great Tristar what was she running mostly? Any other vacs hiding around-- Eureka Express, Hoover Celebrity or anything like that?

Nice find!

You should try asking eBay if they can remove that negative for you. It's a slim chance, but they might.

I see it sold! Congratulations.

Perhaps I'm missing the joke but I find kirbykid's posts pretty superfluous.
