My Mom had one of those. They are heavy suckers. I hated vacumming with that. Then I would have to "rake" the carpet with that stupid avacado and white rake to get rid of the track marks from the vac.

Bringing back BAD memories for me! LOL Well, not really bad but lazy teenager memories. :-)

Well I think that design is one of the best carpet cleaners ever! The 1400 series was not the best but it can't be that bad. When you consider the price, availibilty, and low cost of parts it makes these models even better. I'm suprised that no one bought that one. It was a nice color and everything but Eurekas don't have as many supporters among collectors, atleast it seems that way to me.

Anyway, everyone has their least favorites.

I don't seem to have a least favorite, but of course i'm not counting modern Vacuums ;]

Actually,these machines were very lightweight and very good for the money.
