hey there all,

i stopped at a estate sale yesterday on the south side. and in the basement i found this divine little treasure. still tucked in its original box. $30.00 was marked on the box, considering this is kinda a HTF item to find, and in GREAT condition, and complete i was prepared to pay the price. but since it was saturday it was 75% off,i only paid $7.50!!!!!....i was STOKED!!!!!=).....it sounds great! there was a ring of duck tape over the bag, the only reason it was there somehow the idiot who had it took the screw out of the bag ring. so with that replaced and some minor cleaning.its really nice. the box is near mint. and the warranty card was still in the box, and even the shoulder strap.

and a little bonus in the bottom of the box.

the VERY RARE Concept II tool rack that hangs on the bag, and holds the Help Mate crevice tool and brush.=)

I would love to find one of those concept II attachment holders!! That Pixie looks nice too. Look forward to seeing it Friday when I take the Volvo to the dealer in Wichita to be serviced.

Stellar find!!

And, at that price, a STEAL. That "Pixie" is a match to the "Citation"... forerunner to the CONVERTIBLE. Bet you didn't know THAT! Now, you're ready for Jeopardy!

With the blue bag, wouldn't it be a match to the model 14 lark?

Well, I was given one by

gottahaveahoove's profile picture
Ann Haines recently. The metal motor housing matches the base of the Citation. Tom A. was as surprised as I was. According to the records at the Historical Center, she told me it was the Citation match.
Although, with that bag, it IS nice to pair with that Lark.

But, IF she is wrong,

I'd certainly not be the one to correct her. I'd die first.

well i can see it machting .....

either or.....but there is a "57" stamped on the back of the box. so im thinking it rather late. like kinda leaking into the Convertible era. i saw a ad on Google images with the same box, but a bigger more round bag, and the earlier blue metal trimmed tools and hose that also are what the 63 had. that ad was dated 1955.

absolutely correct

gottahaveahoove's profile picture
You know that they ran models into one another...some of these 'little vacs' would be sold as a companion with a purchase. The blue tools absolutely would match the handisac vacuum.
john.

Lucky you!

Here in the UK they were called the Dustette and were the best hand held cleaners to date... In my opinion!

Here's Ann Haines' "dustette'.

I'll post the whole line of "Pixies" soon. Yes, this Citation has a replacement bag, although, the blue now matches the hand cleaner. We could go around like this all day.

The one I found last week has a blue snap bag and takes paper bags. The same principle as the C bags with the tube and rubber band. It's a neat little vacuum, runs so quietly. Mine says it was made in England by the Hoover Company.

Ah, that's interesting Kenny! It was probably made in the plant in Perivale unless I'm mistaken.

Kenny!

I loved that one. John Gregory had one. It had a bag the same color, (just about), as a "Neptune green" 69 upright. I have the paper bags for that.
John.

Hey Jae, nice find there! You have had the luck the last couple of weeks finding items in the original boxes. How cool. Also, the Help-Mate tool holder is new to me. Didn't know they made them. That was a nice extra lil surprise.
