I have recently pondered the question if any other vacuum manufacturer has ever made a vac with a detachable handvac or similar to the concept two. Has anyone ever heard of such a machine? I would be interested to know that. I have also wondered why no one else ever pursued the incorporation of a smaller detachable vac within an upright (combo vacs are exempt). Give me your thoughts on that

During the 1980s, Kirby tried to approximate that idea with their Heritage II 2HD model by affixing a rack to the front of the upright unit's tall handle which held Kirby's Split Second cordless hand cleaner (which was basically the same as the Douglas RediVac cordless.) In fact, the storage sleeve for the video owner's manual showed the 2HD set up as an upright with the hand cleaner affixed to the fro nt of The handle.
