Wondering if it is possible to replace the cord on a 1700 style Eureka RotoMatic cord winder. These cord winders are all metal and riveted on the one side.
Cord winder works phenomenally but need a new cord. Please help thanks!

Eureka cordwinder

Probably best to find old stock or parts machine and change, not repair. The spring can be dangerous.Use CAUTION.A newer Sears I serviced recently had the picture warning of spring flying toward cartoon face.I do have some used canisters. Not sure CW condition or how soon I could check.
