2 very wanted machines found! One is thrifty model and the other is TOL! Both nice condition but the cord reel one is a bit nicer! I love them both!

Great Finds!

Congrats Kyle on your new acquisitions! That TOL is really nice, hope you leave the stickers on, that's really cool. Do you or anyone else know the reason behind the badging changeover from GE to Premier and about when it took place?

Rick

Wow they're both nice. The TOL model is especially good looking with the green paint and green bag design plus all the other additions like the chrome handle.

Those are really sweet vacuums, Kyle. Would you have any Premier or Whirlwind canisters, by chance? Enjoy!

Changeover....

From what I've heard, and read from years of doing the ol' vacuum thing....General Electric after decades of trying to beat Hoover and Eureka....decided to quit the vacuum game in 1972.

Premier Electric, of Cleveland O, which had a long and storied interwoven history with General Electric purchased all of GE's machinery from their Bridgeport Connecticut? plant..and began producing GE's old line almost intact for the years 1973-198?

Premier Electric had their own line of Premier cleaners from the 1920's thru the 1940's and was conspicuously in absentia after WWII.

My guess and humble opinion is that after the war Ge prolly told Premier to stop producing vacuum under the Premier badge as GE was gonna start their fight to battle Hoover and Eureka.

This is what I've heard... Anyone else care to give a more correct history???

Chad

P.S. Hey Kyle....I've heard that Lincoln Airlines JumboJet TownCar95 is scheduling a nonstop flight from Ann Arbor to Adrian on Tuesday to take from you...FOREVER the green Premier. You may want to lock it up deep deep within the confines of your house...lol
