Hi Siny, Welcome to the site. I'm sure you will fit in here.
Your Vorwerk is very nice by the way. I'm more of a Kirby guy myself:o)

Hi Siny, welcome to the rather dysfunctional Vacuum Cleaner family here at VL!

At least we all have one thing in common, a lack of sanity, or is that just me ? Ha ha...

Well that's it. Some people mock vacuum collecting, but I think it is a very useful collection to have. Put it this way, you'll never have a dirty carpet!

Couldn't a Vorwerk vacuum-cleaning system be considered sort of like a Kirby?an upright vacuum that can be converted to do other functions--like the Kirby.

A Kirby is a full size machine that has conversion processes using the heavier motor unit - the Vorwerk uprights are like stick vacuums, the Sebo Felix is very much a design that I think Sebo wanted to copy Vorwerk and produce. I wouldn't say they were the same -but similar in so far as offering different cleaning components and uses.

Welcome aboard Siny!

I have not used Vorwerk in many years.  Our little post office in the town I grew up had one.  They threw it out and of course I managed to bring it home.  The fan housing was broken and I could not get it fixed at that time.

Someday, I will have another one in my collection.

Morgan

Didn't early Vorwerk cleaning systems have direct air motors-remember one traded in to a vacuum shop years ago in the DC area(didn't collect vacuums then-now I wished I had that Vorwerk system)the direct air motor unit-much like Kirby-served as the main power unit for the system.Since I saw that Vorwerk machine in the used vac dept at that vac shop-kinda wished I had it now that I collect vacuums. It appeared to be a nice system-this was in the 70's-there was a carpet nozzle, motorized I would suppose-had a pigtail cord coming out of it-then a bare floor tool, than a hose and hand tools. Now I am looking for such a system.Of course pretty hard to find in Greenville.

Yes they had...

Vorwerk had direct-air motors to model vk122...then in year 1997 vorwerk launch model vk 130 with classic system(bag and then the motor).

The most popular were vk 116 and 117(in Italy) and they were like multi functional machines. They had attachment for polishing floor, power nozzle, attachment for horse brushing, for air refreshing, for hair and cloth drying,... a lot of attachments ;)

We certainly are "international". Tell us more about yourself. You'll meet great people here. So, INDULGE your passion for vacuums.

And, Jamie,
We ALL have lost some sanity. It's not "just" you, but, perhaps "you" just a little more! Afterall, we put the 'fun' in dysfunctional.
Running for the Pocono Mountains!
John.

Welcome to Vacuumland from Canada!

It's so nice to have a visitor from a new country - I think you must be the first from Slovenia! It's amazing to see that there are "cleaner-philes" everywhere!!! :-)
