Here is a link to my first youtube upload.

I have a lot more Hoover ads and other vacuum cleaner related stuff to add, including demo videos I made before the internet or youtube was widely known about.

I can't guarantee getting loads of videos on at once, but I'll try to upload a couple a week at least.

10 second version

I've just uploaded the short version of the Sensotronic ad.

Ryan, I had the first generation ad on video but it got lost or recorded over and I had been searching for ages to see it again and was delighted to find it on your channel. There's a few other vacuum ads on TV Ark that are worth a look.

My channel has two subscribers! I will try and upload something else this evening.

marvelluos! I have always loved those Sensotronics so much... I have some of them, collected much after when they where out for sale and I remember myself as a kid looking at the windows of stores with them in. I thought they were unbeatable, I thought they were the best. I didn't know why I dint have one of them at home. Now I think they represent one of the highest level of quality that hoover reached in the Eighties. I'd like to make some videos of those of mine that really work wonderfully. What do you think about them? AREN'T THEM TOO BIG??????

Tommy, I loved the Sensotronics and didn't find them all that big. My Sebo C1 and C3 cylinders remind me of the first generation models as they seem to be a similar size and shape and my D4 Premium is a bit reminiscent of the later more boxy Sensotronics.

One of the video clips that I may upload to youtube is of me on my 18th birthday un-boxing a brand new Sensotronic Audio 300. I stopped recording after the initial un-boxing to fit a plug as most appliances didn't have fitted plugs back then.

Said that I like all Sensotrinics and that I don't like much the last boxy shape of the Audio 500 series, the ones I like most are the the earliest ones like S 3134 etc. Their electric hose with gigantic grip with switch, power adjustment and pn socket was as beautiful as heavy, especially compared to the plastic extension wands that gave a feeling of weak or unstable, but the quiet power of their motor was amazing. Unfortunately spares were very expensive and hard to find after the the closure of the french hoover factory where the were made. Later models experienced problems with electronic and I don't know how many boards had to be replaced. I love also the small "elektro-kinetic" power head, it is so convenient to use and has the performance of a hoover junior upright, its small size helps much to reach narrow places, it would have peen perfect with a pivoting connection.
Waht do you think?
Greetings from Milan

Tommy

I will always like the Sensotronics because the Total System 5 model started my collection. Sadly I no longer own any of them and wish I'd kept a few.

I preferred the Turbo 300 power head because it was quieter, had a wider swept path and had a lower profile to get under low furniture. The Electrokinetic head was the same size as the Junior and could be fitted with a later Junior agitator. I tried it with my U1104 agitator and it worked better with the beater bars. I never tried it with the last activator style Junior agitator but I bet it would have brought the carpet up a treat.

I loved the second generation with all those lights! I had the Total System 50 with the Turbo 300 power head. I loved the new style remote control handgrip with all those buttons and switches.

I had the talking model but it suffered from connection problems in the electric hose. Every time the hose rotated quickly, it would cut power off to the motor for a second. I had the same problem on my Total System 500. My Total System 400 had the power head but no remote control and didn't suffer from the cutting out problem. I think the system 400 was my favourite of the boxy Sensotronics.

I liked all the models that came out of the Dijon factory, especially the second generation Compacts and Vogues. I had two Vogue models, the mid range one and top of the range with remote control. They didn't offer a power head version of the Vogue in the UK and the remote didn't have a power socket so you couldn't fit one as an option. I recorded a news feature about the closure of the French factory which features Hoover workers from France and Scotland where the production was going to transfer. You see a bit of the inside of the French factory with lots of Galaxy cleaners sitting on the production line. It will be on my youtube channel sometime.

Greetings from West Yorkshire.

Roger
