Thought i'd show you this little rarity, again from the depths of rics garage. How many of these do you see these days! This was Electrolux's take on the Aquavacs/Aquaplus that was popular at the time.

It reminds me of a tortoise or a military vehicle of some sort. It's huge! It had been been in the garage about 8 years, but we put a cable on it, I cleaned it up and low and behold, it fired into life. The motor's an odd one, doesn't actually appear to be a bypass motor, it looked more like a standard 350 motor that had been modified somehow. Any, don't know if i'd like to pick water up with it, although it does have a ball float. Heres some before and after pics....

Flymo

I'm sure that was available under the Flymo brand in the familiar Flymo orange colour scheme. I know Flymo lawnmowers used to have Electrolux motors in them.

well funilly enough this one has 'Flymo' stamped on it in several places. I've seen an orange one before in the past too. The motor cowling was orange on this one too so you're probably right.

Have been part of the Electrolux group since 1969 - I thought they were, but did not realise it was that long ago

OMG!! We had the Flymo version - bright orange. Sadly it didn't last long.

we had about 10 samples of these at Elux SA. unfortunetly they were destroyed when a big clean up was done back in the late 90's

Wow!!! This is something I was really looking for. When I was a kid (last year) I remember seeing a very similar model in orange/brown and ivory sold with the Flymo name. Did you ever see it?
Tommy
