![]() Here is a Viking canister model I've been after for years! The dilemma is the seller has never sold anything before, and, they have it priced at $495.00.
What a let down! I will, however, contact the seller to see if it was a typo...slim chance. Does anybody have one of these they would like to sell me? Guy CLICK HERE TO GO TO funvacfan's LINK

Unbelievable!![]() I can't believe how expensive that is!
They're pretty common Down Under and you can usually pick them up for about $20.00 and usually with all tools and a power head.... Great machines though - pity so many you see were abused...
Hopefully the seller will see sense! Happy Hunting!

It does? Look like a Lux, I mean? It resembles the approximate length and circumference, and has the hose on the front. But I would venture that nearly everyone on this forum could tell it apart from an American Electrolux at 20 paces

Lux![]() It never ceases to amaze me all the variations on a theme that Electrolux produced and sold in different territories - I rather like this one.
We certainly had nothing like it here. I have a Lux 710 which is a variation of the 330/345 and that one of Gareth's has a certain resemblence to our 355. The video that Ryan linked to is from our own Markus79 so maybe he can give us some more information on it - it looks a good performer with that PN. These NOS (I presume) machines are pretty pricy though - I think it might be cheaper to buy the Australian one and pay the shipping! The only thing I can suggest is be (very) patient and keep an eye on it to see if the price drops if they do not sell. They are a nice machine though Al

![]() Hey Guy:
They were sold under the Modern Vac name in Canada and Viking/Husqvarna name in the US. Modern Vac is still available and the distributor is in Edmonton. www.modernvac.com/... Doug

Vikings! Those are VERY good vacuums, but the motors are sealed, if the bearings get dry ETC, all you can do is replace the whole motor unit, some GE motors used in 60s Kenmores were like this also, the end of the armature is not threaded like a Lamb motor, the whole thing is assembled and then the end of the motor shaft is bradded like a rivet almost.

![]() For everyone outside of Canada - it's interesting to note the use of the name "Viking".
Since the early 1960's that was the store brandname for the giant Timothy Eaton department store chain in Canada. And up until the mid 1980's, Eureka made most of Canada's "Eaton Viking" vacuum cleaners. It is possible that when Eaton's discontinued using the Viking name, Sweden's Electrolux grabbed up the copyright to use on vacs in North America. Hmmmmm.....anybody know?
