I was given this Hoover U7008 Commercial by a friend recently, as you can see it was in a bit of a sorry state. But I absolutely LOVE these amazing cleaners so decided to take it on. The original handle had been crushed by a vehicle of some sort but we managed to find a brand new new old stock one. The fan is broken and the baseplate is missing too..

I've never seen that model before, but it looks similar to the one you had but sold...

I think that's my favorite of the vacs I've seen in your collection :) I definitely agree that it's worth saving. Nice job.

cheers guys, always good to get compliments! I thought you might like this one tommy ;) the good thing about restoring my friends vacs is that I get the opportunity to do videos of a lot of interesting ones as well as my own collection. Hi

In what ways ryry do these differ from a conventional domestic Hoover?

Apologies if it's been discussed before but I was just curious as to what the actual differences are on these apart from the (cool) looks.

Cheers
Dave

I think motor and brushroll wise, they're pretty much identical to the domestic Senior. I think the fan may have been bigger though? If anything, I think the U7008 had a slightly lower wattage motor. However the U7008 was a much much much more robust cleaner. It was almost entirely made of metal. It also had a huge shake out bag which I spose was better suited to commercial use.

Well done, I do love those commercial Hoovers! A friend of my Aunt had one as her daily driver, I loved it and always wanted on of my own.

P.S. Just been looking through your youtube vids, I had a similar model LG upright I got from Comet for a steal at £99. Was a great cleaner, a bit heavy but impressive for a bagless cleaner.

Yes a shake out bag would probably be best for commercial use where filtration isn't the number one concern, as it often is with domestic homes.

Still, I wouldn't swap it for a paper bag set up, but I'd much prefer it to a bagless cleaner, so it'd be a good half way house for me.

Paul - yeh the LG wasn't bad, i've always been a fan of bagless LG's. My mum and dad have still got my LG Cyking Sport, It's a 2003 model. I rescued it from the tip in 2006 and it's still going strong now. I used to have a big Cyking too, that was a monster, it even had a built in ioniser and a silver nano filter lol

Jamie - it's not not difficult to convert a shake out bag to use paper bags. My u7008 has the fill tube and flange from a 638 Senior. Rics one just has a Sebo bag pushed over the original flange.
