So this is a little bit of a rant, but it turned out good. I was at Target on Monday and the Dyson DC24 was on sale for $219 with an $80 gift card. I thought it over and decided to get it. I took a picture of the price sale tag so I could show another collector. It said the sale was good until June 30. I went yesterday to get it and the sale tag was gone, and the vacuum scanned in at $399. I told them that I was there on Monday and showed them the picture and they completely denied ever having the sale. It wasn't in their system and they wouldn't give it to me for the price that was there two days ago. It turned out that price was a "mistake" in ALL Target stores and a nationwide memo was given to every store to take the sale tag down immediately. There is pictures of receipts online from people who ended up getting it for the sale price. It made me so angry and makes me want to boycott Target. It is the ONLY Dyson there that doesn't have a sale price.

Good side of the story, I went to Menards and saw that the LG Kompressor was on sale and decided to go ahead and get it. I have been eyeing these ever since they came out a few years ago, but just never bought one. I walked out with this beast for $175, which was one heck of a deal! This is a very aggressive vacuum. It has dual suction channels, which really enhances dirt pickup. The Kompressor technology is really cool too. It really does compress the dirt and save more room. I'm actually extremely happy with this purchase.

Kompressor

Well that's really too bad about the sale on the Dyson. It's a shame when a store won't honor there own mistakes. Anyways, the LG looks really nice. So how does the machine compress the dirt in the dirt bin?

There is a swiper in the bin that compresses it all into one side, and when you empty it falls right in the garbage without a "mess" since it is all caked into one big clump. I haven't emptied it yet so I can't really comment on that.

There have been cases in the UK where companies honoured their mistakes and then went out of business as a result. So sometimes I can see the reluctance to do it. After all, everyone makes a mistake now and then. I've no idea what the law is in the US but over here it does make allowances for that sort of problem, so long as price was not put on to deliberately cheat a buyer.

The Compressor idea is also being used in the latest GTech Air Dam "cordless vacuum cleaner," that Which have tested although their video shows that the "bales" of dust don't quite get compacted down. But then they do admit they didn't pick up enough dust to test it. It doesn't have a swiper though, just a similar arrangement to the dust disposal.

At least you have that awesome DC18 in the background. I wish vacuums today weren't so huge though. Still, the Kompressor looks like a great deep cleaner.

Hmm, never concidered LG to be a Vacuum kind of company, but, that is impressive. I currently own 3 Numatics, all with Airo-Brushes. But, I can't comment on Dysons. But, I might give this a further look into, even though I'm not a fan of uprights. Do love LG for their products, but, I think I might be starting to love their vacuums, too!
