Plus this light bulb is different cause its something called a bayonet light bulb and its not very common. Hopefully other vacuum stores will have good quality ones of them. |

Jamie
Sorry but YOU are very wrong, the Edison screw-in light fitting is by far the most common, we in the UK are one of the few countries in the world to use them for everday light fittings. And even here they are becoming less common too - go into IKEA and every light fitting is screw in (and yes I DO know they sell bayonet fitting low energy lamps), likewise my outside light (bought in Homebase), the lamp in my ceiling fan (B&Q), and the lamps in an ornimental light fitting (bought in John Lewis). |

"I have to concur here with Alistair. JM I think you may be confusing round bayonet with some other bulb, a pygmy bulb that is commonly used in cooker hoods, ovens, vacuum cleaners et al:" What are you talking about ? I know what a Bayonet Cap is! I might not be the brightest bulb (pun intended) in the box but I know that.

Yet again Jamie your previous post shows poorly chosen wording and I don't know why you have to put a link to show what a bayonet cap is, given that my previous post before yours shows the same glass bulb top with screw fitting base and the bayonet cap/base!
You refer to a "bulb" and then "bayonet cap." Therefore I responded by concurring. Read the posts before you jump to your conclusions. I know you know what a bayonet cap is, but by describing / using the word "bulb type," doesn't detract the two versions, easily. "Bulb type" usually refers to the shape of the bulb AND the fitting which is why I posted a pic of the most commonly used bulb in appliances. Besides, in the U.S they may well use a different bulb, a fact that you don't seem to let that member get away from. |
