Checkrate/Likes That is VERY cool! Of course, I have a lot of turquoise just because it was a fairly common color in the 50s and 60s. My Hoover 31, GE Roll-Easy, Hoover Constellation, Electrolux PN-1, Hoover 105 Special (sort of turquoise), and my Air-Way 88 Mk. II. Now, if you add the green vacuums, that would include my Lewyt Leader, Lewyt Golden, GE Swivel Top, my new Magic-Aire model 178, and including blue would be Electrolux AE, Electrolux L, and my Hoover Quickbroom. Oh, and that is almost all of my collection! :-D I love matched sets!! Thanks for sharing! ~~K~~

Checkrate/Likes *Fabulous!* I've always loved that about the Hoovers from that era, how they would re-use the color across the whole product line. I think there was also a Floor A Matic that was the same colors--would have fit right into the set. It was just like the 3600, but the panel on the top was 'autumn gold' instead of orange. Model 3610, I think. Oh, I almost forgot--the little Pixie. :) Same as your HandiVac--sans the handle and de-luxe floor nozzle, and took the shorter type G bag. :) ~Fred

Checkrate/Likes Gorgeous picture Jeff! One of the prettiest color combinations of that era! The second from left, the "Portable"? Whatever it is, I neglected to buy a red one in a local shop because I thought it was missing a wand. I'm sorry now.

Checkrate/Likes *OOPS!* So its not complete after all... I am missing a Floor-A-matic and a Pixie! Well these will do for now. The pictured cleaners come from what I believe was one of Hoover's finest hours. The 1060 Convertible was new and unused when it came to me(thanks Chad) and will always be a favorite. I also feel the Convertible was at its best at that time, it had been on the market for 10 years by then, and the new square hood and colors made for a snappy looking cleaner. The color theme was the idea of my BF Michael, and this is how they are displayed at his house.

Checkrate/Likes *The NIB Convertible Jeff has...... has a VERY memorable stor* That never used Convertible was at the bottom of a pile of ca' ca' at the "Trading Post" a quirky and fun retro little junk store in my original hometown of Potterville Michigan a mere dot to some in the lower middle of the Michigan mitten. This store, which back in the day used to be a grocery store like early A&P's were. This place now long gone encompassed three store fronts in the one block of the main two in the downtown area. To give you an adequate idea of this place it had two floors plus a basement, in the main building...again the old grocery. Then it snaked thru the other two storefronts which used to be an furniture store and a funeral home...!?!?!?! with the basement to the funeral home walled off?????? I used to get the creeps being anywhere in there...but I digress.... When I first saw the Hoover box as I bound in the back way from the alley parking, I saw the silhouette drawing of the vacuum and the fact that it said 1060 CONVERTIBLE CLEANER on it...the whole box, not being that thick or tall to begin with was...horribly squished. That and because it was not anywhere close to where the appliances are usually kept , and looked as if , at one point; that it had been in water; I pressed on. I continued to look about the place. I never gave it a second thought. It was not again, where the appliances usually were kept. I figured that it was just a box of someones post card fetish or something. As I looked thru the rest of the store....I found a nice waterfall hood brandywine Eureka 3.5 amp. F& G upright with a headlight and the original vinyl bag. It was $28.50. I also passed up a Premier torpedo style canister for $15.00 which was all chrome, had the atachments and the orig hose DAMN!! And a few other newer machines which were NOT of interest of course... I paid for the vacuum and the lady Vicki whom I've known since I bound into her store that sunny spring day way back in 1987, plunked down $35.00 for that complete green and chrome General Electric SwivelTop that I no longer own..... said hey wait... I just got in another machine that I don't think works. It's in a box on the floor out by the back entrance of the main room there. If you want it...It's yours...no charge..just get it before I throw it... My heart skipped a minute as I, of course, figured that it was just filled with some old ladies un-useful collection of pairs of her used panties...and more anon..... So I left the Eureka there at the desk...and went to go find out what it was... Imagine after unloading all the @#$% that was on it that it was still taped. But somehow the box had....been stuck to the floor and wasn't coming up too easily. so I whipped out my key's to my Mercury Grand Marquis and zipped it down the tape. Of course, as all of you who read this may well imagined by this time my heart was beating so fast that I couldn't actually believe what I found as I opened the top flaps..and seeing inside that indeed was Jeff's 1060 that he has posted above. The wands wrapped in their brown paper tubing, the bag still in it's factory sack, the cord still wound perfectly..the HEADLIGHT LENS UNWARPED... I plopped my fanny to the floor and just sat there in amazement as It just glistened in the flourecent light. I immediately carried it out in my arms like a proud parent holding a child and sat it in my backseat. I got into my car and hurriedly drove away... What did I forget. As you can see....you can understand why I wanted to vanish before she wanted more $$$$ Good to see it. As a postscript I drove nearly three miles before I rememebred the Eureka....jeez.... Chad....
