The Royal 880 would use "A" type bags, if you still have the original light blue vinyl diamondback bag. If you say your cleaner has a 3 amp motor, the year of mfg. would be between 1975-80.
Example: Serial #57D-A-75296 (April 1975) or Example: Serial #78G-L-19125 (July 1978) or Example: Serial #M78-C-27232 (December 1978) Thank you, Ben |

Yes, the F & G bags are an exact replacement for type A Royal bags. As for oiling, take a look, you might have 2 oil tubes. If there is only one it will be in the back, indicating that the front bearing is a perma-lube bearing. If there are 2 tubes, there will be one in front and back both. I would not use regular 3 in 1 oil, but 3 in 1 does make an electric motor oil that may be found at stores like Lowe's or Home Depot.
I think the 880 will be an excellent choice for you for a powerful, durable, and maneuverable bagged vacuum. Jeff |
