![]() I got a call from my Dad earlier this week saying that his cousin (who I have always known as my Uncle) was moving out and wanted to know if I wanted his old vacuum. I said yes instantly. I had know idea what it was, but he'd had a bunch of cool vacuums over the years - Lux 560, Hoover Turbopower U1060, Goblin Laser were just a few that I remember him owning.
So my Dad brought it round for me tonight and to my amazement, it was his Kirby G4 80th Anniversary Edition. I remember them getting this and it was the first G series machine I ever saw. It's had very little use as I don't think my aunt was particularly fond of it. The shampoo tools have never been used and although the 2 extension tubes are replacements, all the tools are in fantastic condition. I don't intend to use this one very much - it's a little big and clunky for my little house. Still, it will be good to use as my "spring clean" machine to give my house a proper blitz through every so often and is certainly a great addition to my collection.

Hi Chris Hi Chris, Nice Kirby and it looks in good condition:o) It looks like it will polish up very well. Its always nice when you get the original paper work and know where it comes from. Your collection seems to be growing quite a bit:o) James:o)

![]() Benny, I have no idea what the thinking behind it was. I imagine, like a lot of people, they were roped in by the sales pitch. The Laser replaced the 560, which was then replaced by the Kirby, which was then complimented with a U1060 which eventually took over.
My parents had a Legend 2 which my Mum hated. Again, I think my Dad was roped in by the Kirby sales pitch as my Mum these days refuses to spend over £100 on a vacuum.
