Here's a Youtube video update on my Eureka ESP Self-Propelled 5060 F vacuum. I've had it for about a week now and I have cleaned it under, inside, and outside of the vacuum cleaner. I removed a pink vacuum store sticker from the metal part of the handle cause it kept bugging me and the best part... I got a new light bulb for the headlight!! :D

Hey Andrew - great Eureka!

I would put the year of manufacture sometime between 1978 and 1982....but others here at Vacland will probably be able to give you a more precise date.

Thanks

I get mixed answers because somebody else had the same vacuum as i did but it was a different color and they said it was from 1986. And thanks!!

i do i have the rust.....

the rust colored and mine is dated 1985 or 86 on the base......Sanitareboy.....look at the underside of your base, and there should be a nipple, and that nipple should contain 2 numbers (keep in mind the numbers should make sense so if the numbers are 66 or 23 u now that's not the year)those numbers are the year.....so if those numbers are 83 that means that's from 1983, hers a pic of what u need to look for....

note that....

that one says 80 in the nipple, that means that's from 1980. u can do that with most Eureka uprights and Monkey wards uprights. there are a few freak cases where that nipple was not pressed in, or the numbers are extremely faint, or the nipple is there but no numbers....

and Eurekaboy, i at first thought that was the range of years also, but i was VERY surprised that was late as it was, mine MUST have been one of the VERY last of the original full hood Slef-Porpelled

Eureka

I had the same one with the cord reel, and I bought it in 87. hated the cord reel, too short of cord and had an odd on/off. Took it back and exchanged it for a Panasonic Jet Flo 6220. Loved that machine.

John.....

no Eureka upright in 1987 had a cordreel. that was discontinued in 1980.the last upright to have a cordreel was the Precision if that's what you mean???

Found the date!!!

Ok guys so i looked for the nipple and i found it and the numbers were BARELY visible but i was able to tell what they said. They said 84 so my Eureka ESP is from 1984. I'm happy now that i know that my vacuum is 28 years old and it still works like a champ!! :D
