Saw this today. It's not on Vax's website and not in stock yet at the retailer. I expect they'll be more than one model in the range.

I think it looks good. I like the thumb operated on off switch and those brushes look a bit stiffer than the ones on the Mach Air.

I just sold my Vax Mach Air the other day, aswell. No more bagless for me other than my mains power Black and Decker hand held. The Vax looks good though, as TheKirbylover says, it will suit the elderly. Not sure about the 140 air watts though. I'd want more.

The illustration on the link looks very "concept art". I saw a similar depiction on a Vax Mach Air box - straight bristles on the brushroll - quite unlike the real thing, crimped, splayed bristles.

140 Air Watts is an odd retrograde step. I hope the design keeps the filters clear of dust, unlike some of the other Vax multi-cyclone models.

Mmm I doubt it - whatever Vax have up their sleeve for the newer filter design, it will probably appear, or has appeared in the current Hoover / rest of the TTI brand umbrella brands and their associated products - and they all depend on "lifetime" filters that need to be cleaned periodically or eventually changed. What Vax could do, is eventually end the spell of rubber replaceable belts and fit an entire line up of cheaply priced uprights with brush roll on/off functions.

More new Vax models

I've just noticed a few more new Vax cleaners on the Very website.

There's a new version of the Air upright with a swivel neck that looks good. The hose enters the head in the same place as the Hoover Windtunnel Air and the brushroll seems to have been redesigned.

I think I may try one out at some point, though not at the current price of £249.00 ($390).I expect at least £100 to be shaved off that price before too long as Vax models always seem to go up and down in price.

I expect the U.S. will get a version of this under the Hoover brand.
