I must say I like the bent extension tube on that constellation.

As do I.

gottahaveahoove's profile picture
They were purchased as an 'extra', really. It never was included in the normal sets, as a rule. Perhaps, I've seen them in a FEW boxes. They do make for easy access.

Well I have never seen it's kind in the UK, not on a Hoover anyway. Other manufacturers have had removable bent wands which meant the user could configure the tubes with the bend at the brush end, which was marvellous for high level dusting, but I didn't see this on a UK Hoover.

I actually found a similar one

gottahaveahoove's profile picture
upstairs in the soon-to-be HOOVER gallery. It went on a 28. They did away with all of that in the 1960's. Both standard and deluxe models had straight tubes. The deluxe set had the telescoping wand, dusting brush, and a different upholstery brush (the one with the rubber teeth).Later, with the front conversion tools, some had the curved wand/tube. I re-discovered all of these while perusing the upstairs room... TONS of hidden treasures. I'll post pics soon in a different thread.

John,

gottahaveahoove's profile picture
the 1076 is upstairs at the moment, with the others.10 of them are in the upstairs hall. This was not from AB. This came with a matching Handivac, long bag, handle grip. I'll do some more photos soon. It was 90 degrees when these pics were taken.Thought I was gonna die!I'll bring up some more 'vault cleaners' for a play date with yours.

for the comment about the house. It still needs work, as do I. That suit made me look heavier. I should have opened the jacket.

bent extension tube

FYI
The 1977 Hoover Floor Care catalog shows attachments sets U5909 (DAM) and sets U4903 and 4901 (Convertible) as having the "curved" aluminum wand. I could never figure out how to use the floor brush with this set!

Historical -

meaning your house is a perfect fit. It reminds of the Hoover museum ( in a good way ). Good job, now you need a Dirt Devil in the line up to represent TTI! Just kidding!
