From what I understand the 1st generation one speed doesn't have a brushless motor and is loud. Then the next gold 2 speed brushless isn't as loud (the one I have), then the blue one (from what I understand) had the same exact brushless motor as the gold one prior to it, but had added insulation inside or something. As with the latest black one, I was under the impression that it was the same brushless motor, but different PN generating much more airflow than previous PN's due to its design. But perhaps they did make some changes to the latest motor, not sure. I thought the major change to the black wasn't the motor itself, but the quick disconnect hose, color, new PN,lighten basin, and adding rainjet. If someone knows for sure if the black motor was changed, let us know.

I think the unit motor has the same power only unless I'm wrong. like u guys said the gold series no insulation, blue and newest model have insulation and different computer housing. |

Thanks Guys! Joel, do you suppose the blue model and the newest one are more reliable? Rainbow doesn't strike me as one of those brands that arbitrarily changes things unless it's a drastic improvement. |

i say all rainbows are reliable. Oh yeah one thing the blue and newest model can use electrical hose for wet pick up. I had to get wet pick up handle parts in order to use the aquamate3. |
