I was just wondering last night, when I was putting the bin back into my Panasonic MC-E8011 what the purpose of the roller (see picture) at the top of the inlet passage was ? I really can't see a point for it being there...

If that's at the back of the handle before putting the bin back in, it's probably been put there to make it easier for the bin mechanism to slide into and lock.
