So This Morning I Was Vacuuming My Mom and Dad's Room And When I Went To Turn On The Vacuum It Ran Very Smoothly And Then 15 Seconds Later It Turned Off On Me and Turn Back On So I Shut It Off And Check The Belt And It Was Fine. But I Also Remembered That IT Lost Ground Prong The Other Day When I Was Cleaning My Rug. Is It Doing This Because Of The The 3 Prong Or Why?

Thanks, Daniel!!

Grounding pin

No, your Sanitaire should still work fine as it is neither a cold or hot wire. The ground wire is connected to the top bearing cap of the motor, hood and I think the handle yoke assy. It is responsible for protecting the user from electric shocks or worse, but it still can be ran with it and you can purchase a replacement plug and wire it up so it does have a grounding pin again. It could be a number of things as to why it shut off on you. The switch or a motor problem. both can easily be handled and I could walk you through if you would like on how to change motor parts ect... It is quite easy!

Check the wall socket first

I had this problem in our last rental house, many of the sockets were worn and the conections were loose causing my machines to start and stop.

Sounds like a broken wire in the cable, if you can find the spot, you can cut it out and shorten the cable, or just replace the whole thing entirely...

If it is like the UK models there may well be a break in the inner cores where the flex comes out of the top flex hook and bends over. Seen that a good deal of times.

Well I Wasn't The Cord.

On Tuesday Mom Needed To Vacuum The House And She Didn't Want To Use The Kirby So She Used Mine And It Turned On! So I'm Guessing It Was My Outlet That Was Acting Up!

I had that feeling

Outlets do cause problems with appliances, just replace it they are cheap and this project is simple consult utube.Sanitaire's are well built machines designed to take lots of abuse their wiring is simple and parts are easy to replace.
