Hello everyone, new member here. I just got back from monthly thrift store hunts and found a model 28 hoover, paid 4.99 for it. The motor seems to seem run quite and smooth.

After removing the bag hook up at the bottom to pull out a paper clip. Of course crap fell out so I thought I would test it out and sweep it back up. Well all it did was throw the stuff out in front of it and did not pickup hardly anything. Granted this is in as found condition, I have not cleaned or done anything to it yet. How do I go about correcting that problem?

So after my rambling I will get to my point of why am I here. Do I, and how do I take it apart and oil it and service it.

It also needs a new beater bar, were can I find one? I also used some random round belt that looks about the same as the dry rotted one on it. Were can I find parts for it.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer. Photos to come soon.
