I have found some nice Hoover convertibles at thrift stores in the past few months so I thought I would post some pictures. Up first is a nice model 589. This one is all original and only cost $10.00

A green u4101. This one was covered in mud. It looked like it had been stored on the bottom of a lake. After a good cleaning and motor service it looks and runs great. It was only $5.00

The 589 and the U4369 were both recommended by Consumer Reports-the 589 in 1971, and the U4369 in 1986.

Some day when I've got more money I'll buy some American Convertibles (Seniors over here), as they just look so much better!

I love the 1978 lineup picture posted above. So were the U5015 and U6039-030 the last Dial-A-Matics produced before the Concept One was released? I always wondered what was the LAST power drive and non power drive models offered. I have seen a green U5017 and U6041 with faux wood grain on the base decal.

Nice Finds!

Really like the green convertible. I believe this is the one that Alex B. called the "pickle convertible". Is that a headlight? or is it just for show like on the blue U4005.

There is no headlight on the green u4101 or the u4107. They are just for show.

Nice Convertibles you've got there. :D
