What were all of the slogans Eureka had used through the years for their product?

In the 1980s, we had:
"Gets dirt you can't see" (c. 1978-1986)
"Discover a better way" (1982-1984)
"Discovering better ways" (1984-1986)
"Tomorrow's cleaners today" (1986-1987)
"Eureka will sweep you off your feet" (1987-c. 1990)

Eureka slogans

What about this one Ben? "Eureka the very best in vacuum cleaners". I think there is a little more to that slogan but I will check later.

and ben.....

i just now relized this.....

that add has a slogan you already posted.....but your date is a bit off, this ad above is form 1977.....so the "discover a better way" slogan was obviousley before 1982.

"gets dirt you can't see"

This was one of the best with the cartoon types of dirt hiding in carpet in magazine ads and color panel of boxes.

That Eureka Christmas ad is beautiful!

It highlights two of the "Best Buys" chosen by Consumer Reports in its ratings of vacuum cleaners in 1974.

The 2042 upright (which was green and white in 1974) was chosen as the top-rated upright and listed as a Best Buy - which means an excellent product for a very good price ($100 in this ad). Second in line was the more deluxe Golden Rugulator Cordaway Upright Model 2082.

The other was the bottom-of-the-line red Eureka Rotomatic Power Team Model 1255 - it was the top-rated power nozzle canister in 1974, and chosen as a Consumer Reports Best Buy (listed in this ad for $120). Second in line was the more deluxe orange-coloured "Sweet Sixteen"-style Model 1260 canister with bag-check indicator and power nozzle with headlight. The Empress II version of the power nozzle canister (Model 1280 I think) was rated as "unacceptable" because the hose rotated 360 degrees and could accidentally pull out the power nozzle cord leading from the hose to the power outlet in the main unit.

Right...

Also:
"We'll sweep you off your feet" (1990-1991, a continuation of the 1987 "Eureka will sweep you off your feet" slogan)

I know that in the 1980-86 period, Eureka seemed to use both the "Discovering better ways" and the "Gets dirt you can't see" slogans alternately.

I wonder if in the early days, Eureka ever used the English translation of the Greek word "eureka" which is "I found it"! :-)

and Eurekaprince....

there were actually 3 versions of the 2042 upright, the green one in 1973 or 74 (mines dated 1973) was a metal based machine, then the blue 2042 wich was excatley the same as the green metal version, except it was truned plasic, and had a new kinda rubbery cloth outer bag. and there was one last version in red, with a updated VG II instead of a VG I, im guessing that would have been very late 70's or earley 80's

Eureka's 1940s slogan

"Eureka. Precision engineered from the woman's point of view." This slogan may well be regarded as sexist by today's standards.

1983 Vactronic Ad Clipping

kirbyclassiciii's profile picture
A (likely) fall 1983 (new for 1984) ad for the model 1790 Vactronic Power Team canister.

At this point, Eureka's then-current print logo is already in use here, both on the PN and the vacuum unit itself. The same logo made its debut on the Mighty Mite canister introduced in the fall of 1982.
