Eureka 1400, 1900, 2000, 5000 Series Uprights

Could anyone familiar with classic Eureka uprights, like Brian aka @EurekaPrince, please tell me the general differences between the 1400, 1900, 2000 and 5000 series uprights?

As best as my knowledge goes, the 1400 series was most utilitarian, with the 1900s being step-up units, then the 2000s with their "ESP" motors, and then highest is the 5000s which are self-propelled.

And if I could outline the Sanitaire SC600/800 series motors with the equivalent classic Eureka 1400/1900/2000/5000 series, the SC679 "Maid Saver" is analogous (meaning "comparable to") to a 1400 series, the SC684 step-up is analogous to a 1900 series, and the SC886/888/899 are all analogous to that of the 2000 series, correct?

I would also like to know when each of these model series groups first came about, and for lack of a better answer I'd guess it was around 1979.
