Found this at the local Good Will the other day for $14.99. It's nearly complete, I think the only thing that might be missing is the bag full device that goes on the inside of the bag door.

The brushroll and bearings will be replaced. The power drive belt is an original hoover belt, and it still had original hoover belts on it. I am anxious to start the restoration process!

The cord is original and has absolutely no knicks or tears in it. Power drive works very well, hose suction is pretty good compared to an old elite I had at one time. I'm not sure what condition the fan is in, will take more pics later on as I tear into it.

Does anyone know where I can find a new hood decal? I might end up having to sand some of the scratches out of the hood and then polish the plastic back to a shine. If I can find a new old stock decal for the front that would really take the "eye-sore" out of it.

Let me know what you guys think!

Andrew

Something missing?

I think the bag full indicator or something went here. Not sure if it was only on other models etc though. Not sure what the black vents are for, I would guess an air freshener.

Will need to hunt down a link or copy of the owner's manual.

Since this was the BOL Power Drive, I believe it did not originally come with the Check Bag Indicator. Congrats on this find though! These are one of my favorite Hoovers and I always grab them when I come across them. I don't know why, but I love the way they sound!

I always loved these machines, I too always grab them. I didn't know this was the BOL model?? Which one was the TOL? I do remember a blue one, burgundy one, green one, and maybe a black turbo power model?

Hey Andrew,

Really like the hood style and wide angle headlight on that model. My Hoover preferred also has a cut-out for a bag check indicator. I thought mine was missing as well.

Technically, yes. I believe the teal-green one had the same features, but the blue and red 'Supreme' models featured the Check Bag Indicator and a belt indicator. There was also the dark green Dirt Finder model, as well as the TurboPower model that you mentioned. Those are the only ones that I know of.

The serial number meant it was made in July of 1997.

I did! I have the maroon non Power Drive Dirt Finder. I was really confused as to how it worked at first because it was missing the battery. I hope to find the Dirt Finder Power Drive someday though!

It's not a bag check

It's for air scented tablets, it pulls right out of the bag door. Has a place for a scented tablet. If you have any try it.

The spot he is referring to is not the scent tablet chamber. That is located under where the bag check indicator would be.

Nice find. My favorite version of these was the green PowerDrive. Did some of these have the twist lock hose port like the Legacies, or were they all like this?
