The switch cover..... I notice some have a cover on the switch and some dont- was this a production change or have they just gone awol on the ones without?. Seamus P.S to David- did yours have the same red bag as the others originally? | ||

The earlier models did not have the red switch actuator. Hello Seamus. I changed the bag on mine. The original on mine WAS the one you see on the others. | ||

Switch cover Kyle, mine had a cover. But it was broken and has a sharp edge. So I took it off. Works just fine without it. As my Dad would say "useless weight on the dragstrip." Nicholas | ||

I purchased my Guardsman new. I didnt care for the original bag, so i changed it. Listen and you will hear the Hoover Purists SCREAM...lol. Its not impossible to polish these up. A little Mothers Polish and elbow grease works wonders. | ||

my 2 Guardsmans an early U4313, and the first Guardsman with cloth original bag and rear tool conversion, vintage 1976. I think the model # is U7033. I paid a whole $10 for the U4313 at a thrift store

Mike dear Yes those are Concept Ones, a U3101 and a U3305. What looks like blue ribbons is some spinny thing(what they call it escapes me) with planets on it. | ||

Guardsman Model U4313, an early one from maybe 1981. This is the only one I have ever seen that had the "Hoover Commercial" on the bag, all the others just had "Heavy Duty" I found this at the local thrift store back in 2003, I paid a whole $15 for it!
