Does anyone know what the model number of this would be? The tag on the bottom has been scratched off.

But here is a before and after picture of it after I polished the plastic and cleaned it up.

This first is the before.

That is an S300 series, similar to the White Star except this has the slide speed control instead of the knob that the White Star had. This was probably produced mid-to late 90's. A new Airclean bag and filter and you have a great machine for bare floors and low pile carpet/rugs. Congrats on the find!

What he said, it looks basically the same as my S316i "Cat & Dog" model, just with a different speed control, looks to have a lower motor rating too as it looks like it only goes up to 1000 Watts (my S316i goes up to 1500W)...

If I were you I'd open it up and make sure the speed control PCB assembly is intact, mine has some serious scorching in places and needed resoldering on a couple of points, oh and make sure the carbon brushes aren't stuck in their holders (though with mine, that may be down to a prev. owner using it sans bag & proper prefilter)...

And yup, it makes a good hard floor cleaner, I use mine for the really yucky stuff though (kitchen fodder, cat litter, escaped fireplace debris, etc.), saving the Tristar for the nicer jobs like furniture and rugs.... :)

Runs wonderfully! Very strong suction, has a port for an electric hose for a powerhead, but came with a non electric hose and turbo carpet tool. I gave $10. for the vacuum.   I went to the vacuum shop today and they gave me new filters and a bag to put into it.

Thanks for the info guys!  The reason is I need to order a latch for the bag chamber, its missing and I have to order a spring for the tool lid.

Great info all!!!!

I'm proud of how well this vacuum turned out.

I believe it's an S324i

Hi Ben, as I wrote on Facebook, I have the same machine. It was my first Miele. Purchased it new in 1996 from my local dealer. It's been a great vacuum and I still use it often for above floor cleaning. (Prefer to use my Capricorn or S7 prototype for carpet, or Sentria, SEBO, etc.)
