Hello All,

How does one determine the manufacture date of pre-G Kirby's (e.g., before the tech drive machines).

Ok, so what do each of the digits mean? For example, B123456 how would this "made-up" serial number be decoded?

Hello Chris.

I hope all is well w/ you & your's. It was good talking w/ you.

Here is a link to an old thread I posted in. If you skip down to Post #3. This applies from the present model back to & including the Heritage I.

I've not yet learned the 'exact coding' for the models prior to the Heritage. A lot of times you can find a 'manufacturer's clock' that will give you a close approximate. However, that only started to be incorporated onto some parts, in the early sixties, I believe.

Talk again soon, Chris.

Cheers & hagd/n all,

Bill
