Hi all,

It's been a while since I posted any collection updates on here, so thought I'd share some snaps.

Modern cleaners first. Both my Sebo Felix Vogue AND Miele S5281 have been sold. I loved them both, but I really missed having an Automatic X so I picked up the red x1.1 Euronics exclusive. I completely fell out with the Miele's. As much as I love them, I'm NOT paying £12.99 for 4 bags. Especially as they're tiny. £5.99 for 10 Numatic HepaFlo bags? That's more like it.

Older machines now. Picked up a Philips U700 in a junk shop for £10. It was filthy and had a Goblin Ace bag forced inside it. It had quite clearly been used as someones DIY vac, as it had pain splodges all over it. Cleaned up the body, replaced the belt and got some proper bags for it and voila! Perfect working vacuum.

Also tracked down a Hoover Junior U1104 in VERY good condition. This belonged to a bloke's Grandma and he had inherited it. Sadly, his wife was having none of it and he had to part with it. He was very glad it had gone to a good home. This one didn't need much cosmetic work. Just a very quick T-cut and polish and the bag went through the washer to freshen it up. I also got the hose and pan converter with it. Been having some trouble with the brushroll as it was sticking on the carpet. The bearings will not budge, but luckilly Rob has a complete brushroll assembly for me so we'll have the replaced soon. I have managed to clean out between the end caps and the bearings, and it seems to have made considerable difference as it is.

Finally, I managed to track down a replacement brushroll for my Panasonic MCE-47. The old one was worn as hell and was making the most awful racket. I put the replacement in, and you would not believe the difference it has made in performance. This has since become one of my daily machines.

Here's a few pics for everyone.

U2194 - October 1984
U1104 - January 1988

The Goblin Rio has the original sales receipt in the box and was purchase on 18 March 1994

Hi Chris,

Your vac collection is coming on nicely:o)
I love your Hoover Junior U1104. It's Nicer than mine!
I need to find a better example of it. Along with a long list of other vacs....
Also like your Blue Turbopower Autoflex.

What else is on your hit list?

James:o)

Hey James,

Thanks for the comments :). I was really impressed with the condition of the junior, just need to get that agitator sorted.

There are a few on my hit list. I'm DYING for an old style Hitachi Powerhouse. Either early 90's or the 80's models with the add-on tools. I know you have one already, before you say it :P. I've not seen one in YEARS. I'd also really love either the Philips U800 or Delongi Combi 800 to go with the Philips above. Lastly, I've been after an Electrolux 2030 for a while now, but haven't found one yet.

Hey Chris. I'm sure you will get your roller sorted. Even if not they turn up every so often on ebay.
Same with the Electrolux z2030. They come up on ebay ever so often. But I'll let you know if I come across a Electrolux z2030 or the Hitachi's.

You will have to come and visit the new shop at some point.

I will have to pay you a visit at some point. How easy is it to get to by public transport? I'd have to make it a day trip as I don't drive - if you don't mind putting up with me for a whole day lol

It shouldn't be to hard to get to.
You could either get a bus from Derby or from Nottingham.
Or you could get a train to Langleymill Train station and get the bus up...

Just let me know when as I'm closed on Sunday and Wednesdays.
Don't want you turning up on one of those days lol.
